Welcome to Clunes, Victoria's first officially recognised gold town. Nestled in the heart of the Goldfields, Clunes is renowned for its remarkably preserved 19th-century streetscape, rich gold mining history, annual Booktown Festival and vibrant community. Today, visitors can wander its heritage streets, explore cafés and bookshops, and experience one of Australia's best-preserved gold rush towns.

Growing up in Clunes, I spent countless hours roaming these streets with my friends. At the time, they were simply the backdrop to everyday life. I never imagined that years later I'd return with a camera and see them through a completely different lens. More than anything, this project has reminded me how easy it is to overlook the places that quietly shape who we become.

This is an ongoing photographic project documenting the heritage, landscapes and changing seasons of the town I have always called home. My hope is that these photographs not only preserve the beauty and character of this historic town, but also encourage others to slow down, look a little closer and appreciate what this little town has to offer.
